REMOVAL AND GRADING OF A FENCED IN AREA

The Village of Rhinebeck requests proposals from qualified contractors to remove a 50 ft by 50 ft fenced in area located at the Lions Mini Park, 15 South Parsonage Street, Rhinebeck, NY and to level and regrade the area appropriately for positive drainage.

Scope includes:

1. Removal and disposal of all 4ft height black chain link fencing and gate (approximately 201 ft), concrete footings, and all associated hardware and components.

2. Salvage (2) benches and turn over to Owner. Includes removal of concrete footings. Concrete shall be carefully removed from embedded bench posts, ensuring not to damage benches.

3. Removal and disposal of two (2) tires, frog spring rocker, arch climber and associated concrete footings.

4. Removal and disposal of perimeter lumber safety surface retention frame.

5. Removal and disposal of safety surface liner and any associated debris.

6. All remnant holes left after removal of fencing and equipment shall be backfilled with appropriate suitable clean fill.

7. Area to be lightly graded to allow for positive drainage while tying into adjacent finished grades of lawn areas.

9. Area to receive 4-inch depth of screened topsoil, an approved lawn seed mix (blend of annual rye, fescue, and bluegrass), and straw mulch. Seed shall be spread at a rate of 4 lb/1,000 SF or as specified by manufacturer. Seeded area is to be watered upon completion of work.

10. No vehicles, equipment or stockpiling of materials shall take place within the drip lines of existing trees.

11. Contractor shall restore any disturbed areas to their existing condition.

12. The park will be open to the public during the performance of the work. The Contractor shall be responsible for protection of the work area and all necessary Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT).

RIGHT TO REJECT PROPOSALS

The RFP does not commit the Village to award a contract, pay any cost incurred in the preparation of a proposal in response to this RFP or to procure or contract for services. The Village intends to award a contract on the basis of the best interest and advantage to the Village, and reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received as a result of this request, to negotiate with all qualified proposers or to cancel the RFP in part or in its entirety, if it is in the best interest of the Village to do so.
