Our Commitment
The Village of Rhinebeck Police Department exists to serve and protect the public and between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. is usually the first responder to Village emergencies.
Officers have regularly assigned patrols and other duties coordinated by the sergeant. They also perform services under a municipal agreement between the village and the town, such as patrols and giving vehicular tickets, responding to 911 calls, assisting with events, and officer of the court. Additionally, two department members are School Resource Officers (SROs) and spend 8 hours in the schools each week.
County Sheriff and NYS Police officers may also patrol Rhinebeck, depending on the hour of day, County and State roads, or special public events.
The Village Board of Trustees and Mayor oversee the department’s budget.
