COVID Restrictions Lifted - Effective Immediately
I am very happy to announce that the Village of Rhinebeck is removing the mask requirements in the Village Center, as well as all other COVID19 related restrictions. This order is effective immediately. Outdoor dining will still be available under guidelines from the County and State.
We are making this move based on the announcement today by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. New York has reached the 70% threshold for adults who have received at least one dose of the COVID19 vaccine. Therefore the state-mandated restrictions are lifted.
With the removal of the State's minimum standard for reopening, businesses are free to choose to lift all or some restrictions or implement other health requirements. That meansindividual businesses may choose to require masks and six feet of social-distancing for employees and patrons within their establishments, regardless of vaccination status. Any mask requirements that businesses choose to implement must adhere to applicable federal and state laws and regulations, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Our Village as we once knew it is returning to a new normal based on what we learned from the pandemic. Our businesses can now operate at full capacity, and our community can breathe a sigh of relief. We are grateful to have achieved this milestone and I thank everyone who helped us get to this day.
