Request for Bids for Tree Purchase & Planting

The Village of Rhinebeck requests bids for the purchase and planting of nine balled and burlapped trees. Planting locations are in a Village Park and along Spring Brook Ave (Rt. 9). (See details below)

The plantings are part of a project by the Village Tree Commission to beautify the entrances to the central business district and Village parks. If necessary, the Commission is available to provide advice on sourcing the trees.

Planting locations will be marked with white flags as of Feb. 28, 2025

Because Spring Brook Ave is State Route 9, the contractor must file NYS DOT PERM 33 (no utility) with the New York Department of Transportation and file Dig Safe Tickets prior to starting work. The tree species have received prior approval from NYSDOT.

The work must be completed by May 16, 2025

TREE LIST & REQUIREMENTS

prepared by the Village of Rhinebeck Tree Commission 

-All trees are sourced as balled and burlapped.
-Red Cedars must be minimum 8’ tall, 10’-12’ preferred.
-Deciduous trees must be 2.5-3” DBH caliper trees.
-Plantings should be staked, watered and mulched at the time of planting.
-Plantings are to be guaranteed for one year from date of planting.
