Join the Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee
Help Shape Rhinebeck’s Future!
On September 24, 2024, the Village of Rhinebeck adopted our new Comprehensive Plan—a community-driven, 3-year effort that replaces the 1993 plan and sets a roadmap for land use, sustainability, and quality of life over the next two decades.
On April 8, 2025, the Village Board formally concluded the work of the Comprehensive Plan Committee (with deep gratitude!) and established a new body: the Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee (CPIC) [see Resolution #04082025-01].
We’re now seeking community members who are interested in helping the Board:
Identify opportunities for advancing the Plan’s goals,
Ensure continued public engagement, and
Support specific initiatives by adding insight, creativity, and capacity.
The CPIC does not implement the Plan directly—that responsibility remains with the Board of Trustees. Rather, the CPIC is a key partner in ensuring the Village’s work stays aligned with the Plan’s vision, and in surfacing ideas and resources that expand what’s possible.
We’re especially looking for folks with:
Project management experience
Comfort with spreadsheets
Strong community engagement or communications backgrounds
Familiarity with the Comprehensive Plan is required. You can review it on the Comp Plan website, or view hard copies at Village Hall and the Starr Library.

This is a long-term process. As we build a strong base of community involvement, the Village Board will begin appointing CPIC members. Thank you for your willingness to help Rhinebeck thrive—now and for generations to come.
Warmly,
Lydia Slaby
