Water & Wastewater Rate Increase

The Village Board approved an increase of Water rates from $7.00 per 1,000 gallons used to $8.00 per 1,000 gallons used and Wastewater from $13.50 per 1,000 gallons used to $14.00 per 1,000 gallons used These new rates will have gone into effect July 1, 2025, starting with Zone 1.

WHY DID THE RATES INCREASE?

Water & Sewer rates are evaluated each year by the Village Board and periodically adjusted to ensure that revenues received from users of the systems are sufficient to cover the cost to operate and maintain the system and complete budgeted capital improvements.

The Village of Rhinebeck is dedicated to keeping rates affordable by maintaining lean staffing and using reserves when necessary. However, the following costs continue to rise including (1) overall operational costs, (2) maintaining and enhancing infrastructure and (3) building or maintaining adequate financial reserves for emergencies and future needs.

Additionally, the Village of Rhinebeck is always committed to seeking any available State or Federal funding that will provide funding as well as other future infrastructure improvements

LANDLORDS, PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR TENANTS OF THE INCREASE IF THEY PAY THE BILL.
