            The public hearing for Terrapin Restaurant at 6426 Montgomery St. and their application request for modification to their existing site plan and parking lot remains open and therefore continued to the Planning Board meeting on June 7, 2022, beginning at 7:00pm.

 

            The meeting will be held remotely over Zoom. PUBLIC HEARING: CONTINUED FROM MAY 17, 2022(OPEN)

Request: Site Plan Review – Proposed addition to existing outdoor seating and proposed new structures and areas. Proposal of additional 40 outdoor seats to be located underneath a proposed 30 ft. x 40 ft. pavilion located to the rear of the existing building/restaurant or the west side of the parking lot east of the building. This proposal will require the parking lot to be reconfigured for functionality and eliminating one driveway. Onsite parking will be reduced from 21 spaces to 15 spaces. Also, proposed new structures will include a 14 ft. x 20 ft. fenced storage enclosure, a new 12 ft. x 18 ft. shed, and a new fenced 12 ft. 18 ft. refuse area. Located in the Village Center Special Sensitivity Overlay District and Historic Overlay District and adjacent to the Residential District.

Also, the wood trim around the windows and rotted sill will be replaced in kind. This property is in the Historic Overlay District and the Residential District.

Discussion:

-Presentation by Engineer Brandee Nelson of Tighe & Bond, Tighe & Bond is drafting a permit with a number of rules governing the design requirements for outdoor dining spaces on the sidewalk.  The Village Mayor and Trustee Board would like to get an advisory opinion from the Planning Board for the various dimensional and aesthetic rules that are being proposed to be part of the application.
