Highway Vehicles Damaged

At 1:37 yesterday, 9/25/21, a possible structure fire at the Village Highway garage was called into the Fire dept. The fire was quickly isolated to Truck 8 and caused collateral damage to Truck 5, both of which were parked out back next to the rear entrance of the garage. Truck 8 is totaled, and Truck 5 is questionable.

The Fire dept responded quickly and most likely saved the building with a quick knock down. There was no visible damage to the structure.

We secured the camera footage and turned it over the Police dept. for investigation.

Highway Supervisor Scott Minn and Rhinebeck Police were there helping. Thank you to Chief Eighmy and crew for their response and assistance in the clean-up.

Please be aware that this will cause a delay in brush pick up and black topping. We appreciate your patience as we work with insurance to replace these vehicles.
