Planning Board Notice of Change in Public Meeting Location

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:
As of September 2, 2021, by action taken at an emergency session of the New York State Legislature, due to concerns about the current transmission of COVID-19 and its variants, municipal boards once again have the right to virtually meet or convene in person without allowing public in-person access to the meeting. This legislation goes into effect immediately and will be repealed on January 15, 2022. The legislation, which was initially implemented by Executive Order during last year's State of Emergency, allows state and local government meetings that are normally held in person to be held remotely instead, as long as the public has the ability to view or listen to the meeting and as long as the meeting is recorded and later transcribed. Therefore, effective immediately the Village of Rhinebeck Planning Board will be returning to holding its meetings including public hearings virtually/videoconference over Zoom.
The Planning Board’s agenda will be made available in advance of meetings at (https://ecode360.com/documents/pub/RH1002/Agendas/?) and the public can email written comments or questions by 12:00 pm on the day of the meeting addressed to rdowden@villageofrhinebeckny.gov. Any members of the public who has questions should contact the Planning Board Clerk in advance of the meeting at rdowden@villageofrhinebeckny.gov or 845-876-1922. Anyone having difficulty connecting to the meeting should contact the Clerk at, rdowden@villageofrhinebeckny.gov for assistance.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that any Executive Session of the Board will be initiated with the Board first convening on the public videoconferencing site, adopting a motion to go into Executive Session and then returning to the public videoconferencing site once the Executive Session has concluded.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that the Planning Board videoconferencing or virtual meeting will be conducted on Tuesday October 5, 2021 at 7:00 pm. This meeting will be held remotely by Zoom video conference call with a live stream to
the public available by link from the Village of Rhinebeck website (https://villageofrhinebeck.org/) and found on the posting of the meeting’s agenda. Members of the public wishing to speak at any scheduled public hearing will be able to log onto the Zoom call and address the Planning Board live.
Authority for the mode of the meeting is S.50001/A.40001 extending virtual access to
public meetings under New York State's Open Meetings Law, which allows New Yorkers to virtually participate in local government meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic.
