Temporary Provision for Village of Rhinebeck Sidewalk Signs

Given that New York State has declared a State of Emergency which affects the local businesses of the Village of Rhinebeck and as Mayor I am authorized to provide for enforcement of all laws of the Village, in order to assist the merchants during this time I am hereby temporarily suspending enforcement of § 120-19 Signs and supporting structures and providing for the following revisions effective immediately.

Freestanding sidewalk signs shall be permitted.

Sidewalk sign permit from the Village of Rhinebeck is not required prior to the erection, relocation, alteration.

Sidewalk Signs shall be between 30”-36” tall and between 22”-24” wide (no more than a combined total of 6’ square feet).

Signs shall be placed and displayed so not to interfere with pedestrian foot traffic or cause any type of safety hazard.

Signs shall not be illuminated.

Signs are limited to one per business.

Signs may only be displayed during business hours and removed prior to closing.

Signs must be kept in good condition.

Any violation these provisions may result in your sign being confiscated by the Village Code Enforcement Officer
